A guy from Franklin is facing charges after a drug investigation by the New Hampshire State Police Narcotics Unit that lasted several months.
Michael Brownell, age 39, was arrested on Thursday. He faces five charges for selling over 5 ounces of controlled drugs, four more charges for selling the same amount of drugs, two charges for having controlled drugs, one charge for transporting drugs in a car, and two charges for being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon.
New Hampshire State Police reported that they found about 1,300 grams of suspected fentanyl, about 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine, two guns, and around $5,000 in cash during their investigation.
Brownell was brought to court in Laconia on Friday and is currently held in preventive detention at the Merrimack County Department of Corrections.

While troopers were arresting Brownell, 32-year-old Kaitlyn Blake (Woodbury) of Belmont was also taken into custody on outstanding warrants from the Plymouth Circuit Court and Laconia Circuit Court for motor vehicle related charges, according to officials.
She was kept at the Merrimack County jail while waiting to appear in Plymouth and Laconia Circuit Courts.
The New Hampshire State Police Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team also helped with the investigation.
