A federal grand jury has indicted 12 people on 12 counts, including conspiracy, wire fraud, bank fraud, and money laundering. They are accused of being part of a nationwide plan that scammed several victims, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for South Carolina.
The indictment claims that the suspects mentioned below were involved in a scam that used fake business emails to steal millions of dollars from victims, according to the department.

- Anthony Jerome Savage, 46, of Charlotte, North Carolina
- Micheal Raymond Bevans-Silva, 38, of Savannah, Georgia
- Carlise Raymion Roland, 32, of Jacksonville, Florida,
- Daniel Alexander Edwards, 51, of Jacksonville, Florida,
- Danny Heard II, 41, of Jacksonville, Florida,
- Raymone Tyshay Scott Sr., 48, of Jacksonville, Florida,
- Jamian Joshaun Butler, 45, of Jacksonville, Florida,
The indictment also claims that the defendants hacked into victims’ computer systems to check their email for financial activities and bank transfers, according to the office.
The department said that the suspects used this information to find victims’ contacts, money accounts, messages, and business activities.
The defendants sent fake emails pretending to be employees, business partners, suppliers, or other important people, according to the department.
The office reports that the suspects moved stolen money to bank accounts they owned, shared and mixed the funds between their accounts, and then sent some of the money abroad.
The U.S. attorney’s office stated that the defendants are accused of going after several people and businesses. This includes building companies, private equity firms, title companies, and law firms in South Carolina, New Jersey, Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Japan.
