This week, I started a new twitter account and immediately got suspended for “aggressive following.” Turns out when you start to follow the people in your contact list and several different news outlets, twitter thinks you are a pornbot. I waited a day and twitter decided I was a real person and I am up and running the the twitter handle of @TheRealSPA. If you are looking for thought-provoking, insightful and heart-warming tweets, follow @Oprah. The above photo is a better example of what goes on in my twitterverse. It will have feeds from Waldina, Wasp&Pear, my Instagram doohickey, maybe my BitStrips thing-a-nabob and probably a bunch of other junk i gak from the ether. Oh, it will be a party, so come join the other 14 people following me and get ready to be mildly amused *slash* not completely bored. Under-Promise, Over-Deliver. That very well might be the new working title of my memoirs, or my epitaph, whichever comes first.
Sometimes, I think it would be fun to start a youtube video post-y thing and post silly things, but then, I think about the prep work and I’m not really sure I am 100% on board with what the barber did to my hair yesterday. (The barber I go to is super great, very sweet, fast and fun. Now that the compliments are out of the way, I think that sometimes, she forgets what she was doing, or goes a bit overboard, or gets distracted. She is from Vietnam and I have found that visual aids work best and refreshing those visual aids throughout the haircut is also helpful. Yesterday, I brought a photo of Oscar Pistorious **famed double-amputee Olympian and alleged murderer** because we have exactly the same hairline and I wanted all my hair cut off. She kind of hit the mark. Kind of not.) So there’s that inner-dialog that I would have to have before every video, seem exhausting. Here is a list of YouTube channels that I enjoy:
Flula: He is a German guy that covers a lot of popular songs all from computers and instruments he seems to keep in his car.
Daily Grace: Grace posts every damn day about something. The dedication alone should make you a subscriber.
You Deserve A Drink: Mamrie Hart crafts pop culture themed drinks and gives you a step-by-step tutorial on how to make them at home. She has an absolutely dirty mouth/mind, so put your headphones on if you are at work.
This week on Waldina, I celebrated the birthdays of Candy Darling, Diane Ladd, David Rakoff, John Fitzgerald Kennedy Jr., Patrick Nagel, and of course I also celebrated Thanksgiving by attempting to inspire you to donate money or at least telling you how to painlessly do so.
