As you can see, I am keeping up with my tweets. Not to boast, but there are 27 followers out there who seem pretty satisfied. Yes, I am fully aware that Katy Perry has 48M followers (one of them is not me). Actually, of the top 20 most popular people/things on Twitter, I am only following three: Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. There are 12 singers, Obama, Oprah, Ellen, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Kim Kardashian. Even if I looked at the top 40 tweetsters, I am only following one more: Bill Gates. Should I have used their twitter handles and hyper-links? Like they need my help.
Who do I like to follow on Twitter? I think when used correctly, Twitter can be a great tool to get news. I follow a lot of news providers from local to international. I like following @History_Pics for great vintage photos, @UberFacts for random trivia, @atlasobscura for profiles about little known places in the world, and @thewordoftheday because it is fun to learn new words. There are ones that I do not know if they are true, but are entertaining non-the-less like @GSElevator – overheard conversations in Goldman Sachs elevators – it will make you join your local Anonymous brigade.
This week, I shaved my head. It started out on Saturday as me getting a very substantial cut (high and tight with a bit of length on the top) and ended on Monday evening with me taking the clippers and a 3 guard to the top. I will probably keep it this short for a while, I’ll have the barber do it. I have been meaning to take a photo, but all the ‘rough draft’ selfies I have taken get rejected. [photo forthcoming] Turns out, if you are one of my sister’s friends on the faceplace, you have seen a photo of my shaved head taken last night. An unflattering, unfiltered photo. My niece and nephew wanted to play Yahtzee and I didn’t have my reading glasses, so my mother so kindly loaned me a pair of hers. At least she said they were hers, I believe that she may have stolen them off the granny from the Warner Brothers cartoons. That small. That bad. I will not be supplying a link to anything related to that.
This Week on Wasp & Pear, I posted a lot of photos collected from one of my most favorite classic Hollywood blogs Beguiling Hollywood, mostly of film actors reading. I posted a great video of cancer patients getting ridiculously hilarious makeovers, the obituary of the designer of the Orangina bottle, of course vintage Seattle photographs, and a reminder to everyone that World AIDS Day was on December 1st.

Over on Waldina, I celebrated the birthdays of iconic Life Magazine photographer Alfred Eisenstaed and fiercer that fierce film and TV actress Agnes Moorehead. I also obsessed over the absolutely chic Braniff International Airways design and the Polaroid Land Camera SX-70. I posted the manifesto that everyone should post somewhere and read every morning.
