Rear View Mirror – My Week In Review

I love graffiti, I know (at this age) I am not supposed to and if it was being painted on something that I owned that I didn’t want it painted on, I would probably have a different opinion. We did get something once painted on a garbage can or recycle bin, but I don’t remember what it was and I think we have since swapped it out. I remember seeing it at the time and wondering why that word and why our can, but then saw that it was on a lot of cans in the neighborhood. I guess I should clarify that I love graffiti with a social commentary message. There are ones all over Capitol Hill directed at the drunk BroGrammers that have taken over our city and I love them. I love the ones below. I know they are directed at the very people that are probably not reading it or understanding what the message is or have a different interpretation of what ‘stupid’ is, but that’s fine. I love it. I say more sub-culture messages to disrupt the robotic days of the sheep, of ME for that matter. I need reminding.

This brings me to my next project. The next sunny day, I am going to try that Rainex sidewalk stencil thing I have seen around. All I need is a stencil, some Rainex, a sunny day, and a message. I have to work on the message. It will be positive because I want people to immediately get it (and it will also be in front of my house). Stay tuned…

This week on Waldina, I had a huge boost of hits all due to one post about female fronted punk rock bands I posted three and a half years ago. Along with it came a lot of comments, mostly good. You will see how the stats are all crazy now. I also started the A To Z Challenge, where I am prompted to supply a blog post every day (except Sundays) that corresponds to a letter of the alphabet. I chose to keep it in the theme of the Waldina blog and profile people that I gain inspiration from. The blogging community is so large and they have been so supportive. I am doing my best to keep up with all the blogs taking part in the challenge.

This week, I also celebrated the birthdays of Rene Burri, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Mary Pickford, James Garner, Bette Davis, Spencer Tracy, Anthony Perkins, Doris Day, Max Ernst, Ali MacGraw and Sergei Rachmaninov.
