Xenophanes of Colophon was a Greek philosopher, theologian, poet, and social and religious critic. Xenophanes lived a life of travel, having left Ionia at the age of 25 and continuing to travel throughout the Greek world for another 67 years.

XTC were an English post-punk band from Swindon led by songwriters Andy Partridge and Colin Moulding. They were active from 1976 to 2005, enjoying some chart success with the UK and Canadian singles “Making Plans for Nigel“, “Sgt. Rock (Is Going to Help Me)” (1981) and “Senses Working Overtime” (1982). Initially a touring and performing group, in 1982 they became a studio-based project involving session players around a nucleus of Partridge, Moulding and guitarist Dave Gregory.
