This month, I discovered and immediately binge-watched “Ask A Mortician” on YouTube. If you are a fan of true crime podcasts like “My Favorite Murder” and “True Crime Garage,” you will love “Ask A Mortician.” Her witty stories about death and burial will keep you informed and entertained. Maybe you will even become a bit less frightened of your own death?
Sticking with the theme of my true crime interests, this month we watched all of Mindhunter on Netflix. It’s about serial killers, just watch it. The soundtrack is also really great.
I mean, it seems fitting, all the pieces fall into place. I essentially have to drive through a cemetery to get to our house, graves on both sides of the road separated with a gothic stone wall. I am not exactly sure how old the cemetery is, but I know some of our ‘neighbors’ fought in the civil war.
Another thing on my mind recently is the social media phenomena and the microagression of the “Gender Reveal Party.” First things first, it is actually a party to announce the sex of your unborn baby. It is to tell your family and friends which genitalia your baby will have. There is a difference between sex and gender and that is something that a parent in 2017 should know. The parties are designed for social media and just plain heteronormative cisgender bullshit.
