Wind Chills Below Zero Are Expected to Make Chicago Very Cold. Wednesday

The National Weather Service warned that Chicago would be in a frigid hold on Wednesday because of the very cold weather.

At O’Hare International Airport, the temperature this morning was 9 degrees, and the windchill was -13 degrees. Things are the same at Midway Airport, which is farther south.

A dangerous weather advisory was issued for parts of north central and northeast Illinois, as well as northwest Indiana, citing a high risk of heavy cold. Forecasters said that the wind chill could be as low as 10 below throughout Wednesday morning.

They also said that the low windchills would likely stay until Thursday, when snow was predicted. The mercury is going to rise to the low 30s.

It’s likely to snow Wednesday night, and it’s also likely to snow Thursday morning, according to the weather service.

Weather experts say that on Friday, the temperature will reach the mid-30s and it will be sunny and clear. But later that same day, on Friday, it was possible for it to rain, which could turn into snow. The temperature could drop back to the high 20s, dropping to the low teens at night on Saturday. On Sunday, the highs are expected to be in the low teens, making it back to being very cold.

The good news in the prediction is that it will be sunny on Sunday.
