INDIANAPOLIS — A lot of people from Indiana met in a restaurant in Washington, D.C., to watch President Trump’s second inauguration live.
“I have no words to describe how I feel.” Kelly Christy, who is from Muncie, said, “There were huge crowds, more people than I could ever imagine here.”
A lot of people told 13News that they had planned to go to D.C. for weeks. Some people, like State Rep. Cory Criswell (R-District 54), still went to the event even though they knew it had to be moved inside because of the cold.
“It’s still unbelievable, with everything changing within a matter of days,” he told me. “I’m so glad we still came.”
Other people in Indiana, like Teri Marks of Kokomo, were trying to get into Capital One Arena while Criswell was at the Indiana Society Presidential Inaugural Ball.
“We came with the anticipation that we were going to see something exciting and we did not, we stood in lines for a while,” she shared.
She and her sister didn’t get in, but they were able to watch at a party nearby.
“It was so exciting to be with everyone who thought the same thing,” Marks’ sister said.
These people from Indiana want to bring excitement back to the state.
“We all want to work together, we just want to make our city, state, and country better,” she said.
