A 19-year-old guy and two minors were arrested early Monday morning in Meridian after two people were shot in West Boise and taken to the hospital, with one injury that could kill them.
He was taken to the Ada County Jail on suspicion of five felonies: two counts of aggravated battery with an enhancement for use of a dangerous weapon and two counts of robbery. Daniel Alaniz Pineda is from Meridian. For felony robbery, each of the two boys was booked, Boise police said in a news statement.
As of a little after 10 p.m. Sunday, the killing took place in the 1400 block of North Cole Road in Boise. The three suspects and the two victims first met near there. There was a “dispute over property,” and the suspects stole the victims’ phone, wallet, and ID, which led to a short chase.
A man and a woman in their 20s confronted the three suspects, and cops say Alaniz Pineda shot at them while they were in their car. Police said that the adult male got hurt so badly that it could kill him and the adult female got hurt so badly that it wouldn’t kill her. Both were taken to a hospital in the area.
Boise police were able to find the suspects’ car at a house 6 miles west in the 300 block of North Meridian Road in Meridian. They got help from the Meridian and Garden City police departments as well as the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. Police closed off the roads around the house to make a barrier, and the Special Tactics Group team from the Meridian Police Department helped arrest the three suspects.
It is now safe to drive on the roads around the Meridian home and the area where the killing happened on Cole Road in Boise.
