One man died in a horrific incident with an Amazon delivery vehicle in Winnebago County

TOWN OF ALGOMA, Wis. –  County officials say one man was killed in a horrific incident Wednesday night involving a pick-up truck and an Amazon delivery van.

According to a Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office release, deputies responded to reports of a crash on Highway 21 west of Leonard Point Road in Algoma Township at 6:07 p.m.

According to officials, the pick-up truck’s driver, a 30-year-old Berlin male, was traveling west on Highway 21 when he collided with an eastbound Amazon delivery van driven by an Appleton woman, also 30.

Following the initial collision, the pick-up truck apparently became completely engulfed in flames, and two uninvolved bystanders were able to rescue the man from the vehicle.

Lifesaving measures were immediately initiated for the pick-up driver, but the 30-year-old guy was pronounced dead on the site.

At this time, no other information is known; names will not be revealed until family members of the victim are notified; and an investigation into the occurrence is underway.
