South Carolina Woman Scores $200,000 Jackpot by Copying Lottery Pick at Convenience Store

A South Carolina guy feels the love again after winning $200,000 by copying another person’s lotto order at a convenience station in Summerville. The woman told South Carolina Education Lottery authorities that she was waiting in line at Parkers on Linger Longer Drive in Summerville when she noticed the person in front of her purchasing a $200,000 Gold Rush scratch-off ticket.

The woman stated that she asked the clerk for $25 worth of the same $5 ticket that the woman in front of her purchased, and she then went home to watch the football game. According to the woman, she scratched the tickets off at halftime and eventually abandoned the game, but it wasn’t until she came to the last ticket that she discovered she had won the top prize.

The woman told the magazine that she intends to save the earnings for her retirement. “I hope the gentleman in line in front of me won something good on his tickets too,” she told me.

This comes after a Maryland man won the lotto twice on his grandmother’s advice, netting $150,000 in rewards. He is currently disseminating her wisdom throughout the world.

“My grandmother told me that not everyone can be lucky daily,” the man told Maryland Lottery officials. His method is a reasonable way to keep playing the game without spending too much money.

When the Baltimore resident decides to play the lottery, he buys two scratch-off tickets. If neither ticket wins, then concludes the day. If one has any winnings, he will continue to buy tickets and play the game.

It was alleged that this strategy helped him win $50,000 on a Mega Money ticket purchased at EZ Quick Food Market on Mountain Road in Pasadena. He informed lottery authorities that his grandmother’s guidance “earned him more than $150,000 in prize money over the years.”

“I’ve won big twice before, but the last time was a long time ago,” he joked. “I wasn’t sure it would ever happen again,” he jokes. Meanwhile, a Father’s Day lottery tradition paid off in North Carolina this year, with a man winning a $250,000 jackpot.

William Bon Viso, of Wilmington, North Carolina, said his aunt typically gives him a scratch-off lottery card for the holidays, but this year she gave him $20 in cash. So, to carry on his tradition, he spent the $20 on his card.

He ended up earning $250,000. “I kept the tradition and bought them myself,” the father explained to the North Carolina Education Lottery. “A $20 Father’s Day gift became a blessing.” He informed the lottery that he had double-checked his ticket and was shaking because he couldn’t believe how much he had won. He stated that he felt as if he were “in another world,” “on a cloud.”

“The screen said, ‘Winner, claim at headquarters,'” Bon Viso informed the lottery. “I was like, ‘Holy cow! “This is a big one!” He stated that he immediately informed some of his friends and a few family members that he had won, but many did not believe him at first.

“Life is just all about timing,” Bon Viso reminded the lottery players. “It just shows you have to always follow your gut.” He reportedly collected his win at lottery headquarters on Friday, choosing to accept a lump amount. After the required state and federal tax withholdings, he received $178,751, according to the lottery.

“I thought this couldn’t be real,” the winner admitted. “I didn’t watch the rest of the game, because I kept going in the kitchen to look at the ticket.”
