A 6-year-old child died in a terrible accident that occurred on Saturday morning in the northern part of Los Angeles County.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) responded to a collision that took place near the intersection of Pearblossom Highway and 25th Street East in Palmdale at approximately 11 a.m.
“Based on preliminary investigation, [the first vehicle] entered the intersection of Pearblossom Highway to proceed northbound on Barrel Springs Road against a red traffic signal,” LASD stated. “[The second vehicle] driving eastbound on Pearblossom Highway entered the intersection on a green traffic signal [and] broadsided the [first vehicle] in the intersection.”
According to authorities, the crash was caused by a 55-year-old lady driving a 2022 Subaru Outback. She ran a red light, which resulted in a serious collision with a 2014 Toyota Camry.
The girl, who is six years old and was in the Toyota Camry, suffered serious injuries in the incident. She was taken to a neighboring hospital by emergency services, but despite their best efforts, she did not survive her injuries.
The authorities have not yet disclosed her identify. The incident resulted in injuries to several more people, with some suffering minor injuries and others suffering catastrophic injuries.
However, the precise number of people involved and the degree of their injuries are yet unknown.
The only information available on the driver of the Subaru Outback is that she is a 55-year-old lady. There has been no information revealed about her condition, whether she was hurt, or the events that caused her to run the red light.
