CLARKSVILLE, Tennessee — Two people have been charged with the murder of a Fort Campbell soldier who was stabbed almost 70 times last year, according to police on Saturday.

Aguilar’s husband, Reynaldo Salinas Cruz, has been accused of messing with evidence related to her death. Both Salinas Cruz, 40, and Rodas had been held on separate federal charges, and they were extradited to Clarksville on Friday, police said. Their lawyers did not respond to calls about their criminal cases on Saturday.
The information about the charges was not released right away.
Dueñas Aguilar, from Mesquite, Texas, joined the Army in 2018. A year later, he arrived at Fort Campbell, which is located on the border of Tennessee and Kentucky. She was part of the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade in the 101st Airborne Division.
An autopsy report from the Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s Office stated that Dueñas Aguilar had 68 stab marks on her neck and upper body.y
The medical officer determined that the cause of death was a homicide due to injuries from a sharp object to the neck.
