Retirees to Receive New COLA Increase in February 2025 with Final Monthly Payment

In the next few weeks of 2025, Daylight Saving Time (DTS) will change the time on the clocks for people in the United States. They may also get a new Social Security check. And this year’s check will be bigger than last year’s, 2024, so we should go over all the rules and limit amounts.

If we remember that the COLA will go up every year unless something unexpected happens, we can say that people in the US who get a benefit can have a little extra money at the start of every month. The extra payment is for the same month last year.

So, if you have accepted payment of Social Security benefits, you might get a new check soon, either at the end of February or the beginning of March. To mark on the calendar when you will get your next retirement check, you need to see what group you are in.

New Social Security check

The United States will get this new Social Security check on February 26, 2025. This check’s payment will be more than the payment from February 2024. All of these perks have gone up since the start of the current year because of the COLA.

In 2025, the most that Social Security could payout would be $5,180, but that would only be if it was an old-age pension. People who get disability checks can get up to $4,018 in checks.

In any case, you must be in retirement group 4 to get the payment on February 26. And there are two things you need to do to join this group:

• You must have been getting a check for retirement since after May 1997.
• Any month’s birthday must fall between the 21st and 31st.

There are no other requirements for this payment, so the type of benefit has nothing to do with whether we will get the Social Security payment right now. It doesn’t matter what the amount is either; you will get this cash. Also, remember that the amount we get will be the same as it was in January 2025.

Social Security payments coming up

There will be no more payments until March 26, 2025, after the payment on February 26, 2025. As is often the case in these settings, the exact day will depend on the group we are a part of.

That’s why seniors in Group 1 will get their money on March 3rd. People who are retired in groups 2, 3, and 4 will get their Social Security checks on the 12th, 19th, and 26th of the same month. Keep in mind that this is the day the cash is sent. Whether you get it the same day depends on whether you have Direct Deposit set up.
