Authorities stated that after a pair of pricey bulldog puppies were stolen from a pet store in the Denver area over the weekend, three burglars staged a seizure to deflect attention.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said on Monday that three suspects in the Friday afternoon theft were still at large and that the puppies were still gone.
It requested the public’s assistance in locating the suspects and the dogs.
Manager Bianca Rose, whose family owns Perfect Pets in Centennial, Colorado, a city around 14 miles south of downtown Denver, said the suspected crime after 1:30 p.m. Friday was caught on the store’s security video system.
A man who had reportedly fallen to the ground to stage a seizure in order to draw attention away from the two dogs being stolen remained down after the dust cleared and was apprehended by the law enforcement authorities that arrived, according to Rose.
A pipe fell from the man’s clothing while he was being detained, Rose said.
According to Rose, the 11-month-old male puppies, each valued at $4,300, were still missing while the two other suspects, both guys, fled.

Timothy Davis, 37, was the man arrested, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office. According to a statement released by the sheriff’s office on Monday, he was arrested on charges of drug possession, theft, and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Davis was detained on a $2,500 bond, according to jail records, and his first court appearance was set for Thursday.
According to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, the individual “faked the seizure,” according to their statement.
It’s unclear whether Davis has hired legal counsel for the case or whether he has been officially charged. Information inquiries Monday night were not immediately answered by the public defender’s office or the local district attorney’s office.
The sheriff’s office released a picture of the getaway car, a 2006–2013 short-wheelbase Escalade non-ESV with tinted windows and no license plates, and claimed that a fourth suspect was traveling in it. The car was described as a gold Cadillac Escalade with chrome wheels.
Rose claims that as soon as the three of them walked into the store, they started examining the various canines.
Customers often concentrate on a single enclosure and pet the puppies, so that’s rare, she added.
According to Rose, one of the men walked to the bulldogs’ enclosure, removed the top, and took the only two English bulldog puppies in the store, while another fell to the ground and pretended to have a seizure in order to divert the attention of the staff.

The sheriff’s office claimed in a statement that the alleged thief fell and fumbled the dogs when an employee attempted to tackle him.
According to Rose, the employee was kicked in the face during the altercation.
According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect jumped up, snatched the puppies, and ran outside with the other suspect. According to the sheriff’s office, they got into the Cadillac and drove off.

“Deputies are still searching for the other three suspects,” the sheriff’s office stated.
Another theft of expensive canines, including a $2,000 shih tzu, occurred at the store on February 12, according to Rose, when two women, one with a stroller and the other with a baby, said to be buying hamsters for a niece and nephew.
Rose claimed that as they grabbed the dogs, her father, who was working at the time, was busy in the rear of the store packing free food for the hamsters, one of which he intended to give to the women for free.
