Over the weekend, 102,000 prohibited Artri King nutritional supplement pills valued at an estimated $47,000 were seized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection at the Cincinnati Port of Entry.
According to a news release issued by CBP officials on Tuesday, the drugs were sent by the same company in Mexico and were headed to the same home in California.
“Nutritional Supplement Natural INGR,” the CBP claims, is the customs declaration for six parcels that contained the tablets.
“Most people hear about CBP seizing narcotics shipments,” CBP Chicago Field Office director of operations LaFonda Sutton-Burke stated. “Shipments of unapproved pills are very dangerous, too.”
According to Sutton-Burke, the possibly harmful medicines have not received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The medicines “contain harmful chemicals which can lead to medical emergencies or even death,” according to Simon-Burke.
The Artri King pills are marketed through a few retail locations and websites, including Amazon.com, Walmart.com, and Latinfoodsmarket.com, and are advertised as a therapy for a number of ailments, including osteoporosis, bone cancer, arthritis, and muscle discomfort.
According to FDA lab assessments, the pills are linked to liver damage and fatalities and contain substances that have not been disclosed.
In April 2022, the FDA warned that the pills contained dexamethasone and diclofenac, which are not mentioned as components.
“Consumers taking Artri King should immediately consult with their health care professional to safely discontinue use of this product,” According to the FDA warning.

According to FDA experts, the corticosteroid dexamethasone is frequently used to treat inflammatory disorders.
According to the FDA, corticosteroids can weaken a person’s defenses against infections and may result in elevated blood sugar, muscular damage, and mental health issues.
They can suppress the adrenal gland, result in withdrawal symptoms, and have major adverse consequences when taken in large quantities or over an extended length of time.
Commonly known as “NSAIDs,” diclofenac is a non-steroidal and anti-inflammatory medication that may raise a user’s risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular events.

Additionally, the medication may result in severe gastrointestinal harm, such as ulcers, bleeding, and potentially fatal stomach and intestinal perforations.
Additionally, it could greatly raise the chance of negative medical reactions and interact with other medications.
