Man was caught in connection with an abandoned boat that was found on the Orange Beach jetty ALEA

Orange Beach, Alabama — A man was caught by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency in connection with a broken-down boat that hit the Alabama Point jetty in August 2024.

James Houston Hamrac III, who is 52 years old, is being charged with a crime for having a derelict class 1 or 2 vessel.

Police told News 5 in September that the owner had called someone to come take the boat off the wharf.

Hamrac got out of the Baldwin County Jail on Friday afternoon.
