EASTPOINTE, Mich. – A 19-year-old woman involved in the deadly shooting outside a Foot Locker in Eastpointe has turned herself in.
The Detroit resident’s attorney contacted the Eastpointe Police Department and arranged for her to surrender on Monday, May 5.
The incident occurred on Saturday, May 3, around 2:45 p.m. in the Foot Locker parking lot at Kelly Road and 8 Mile Road. Upon arrival, police found a man dead at the scene, while two other victims had sustained gunshot wounds. EMS transported them to a Metro Detroit hospital, where one later died from his injuries.
Shortly after, another man with gunshot wounds was also brought to the hospital for treatment.
Investigators revealed that the two groups involved knew each other and had an encounter in the parking lot, which escalated into an argument and physical altercation. According to authorities, the woman retrieved a handgun from a vehicle and began shooting while the confrontation continued. She then fled the scene in a black four-door sedan.
