CHICAGO — The wrong-way driver who hit a bus overnight in The Loop is still being charged.
In the 300 block of South Dearborn Street, just after midnight, police said a Jeep going the wrong way down a one-way street hit a CTA bus and a parked car. The bus hit an overhead beam for the CTA.
Broken glass and other wreckage from the accident were seen on the street, along with a traffic light.
The bus driver for the CTA was taken to Stroger Hospital in good health. When the bus crashed, there were no people on board.
The guy driving the Jeep and a woman riding with him were both taken to Northwestern Hospital with minor injuries. The driver was arrested, and charges are still being worked out.
