WICHITA, Kan. — It will be more than a year before Kansans choose their next governor, but a woman has already said she wants the job.
Stacy Rogers, a Republican, told KSN via email that she was running for office.
She wrote, “I’m running for governor because I believe in the power of the people.” “As a born and raised Kansan, mother of three, and business owner, I know the problems our state faces.” To protect our rights, make our schools better, help local businesses, and bring back the values that make Kansas great, we need leaders who not only listen but also act.
She would be the first female Republican governor of Kansas if voters choose her.
Rogers says she used to teach her kids. She says that two of her kids have had trouble learning, so she had to speak up for them and make sure they got the help they needed. She wants all kids to be able to go to school, but especially kids who have trouble learning.
Rogers said, “Together, we can make Kansas a place where every family, every business, and every person has the chance to succeed.” “The people of Kansas need to speak out together to clean house, put the right people in the right jobs, and hold our state offices and Republican leadership accountable.”

Scott Schwab, the secretary of state for Kansas, has also said that he will run for governor of Kansas as a Republican in 2026.
The Republican who wins the primary in August 2026 will go on to run in the general election in November 2026.
