The famous In-N-Out Double-Double can once again be eaten by people in the mid-valley at the chain’s Rancho Mirage store, which reopened Thursday after being closed for four days.
Kathleen Hardesty, a marketing communications expert for In-N-Out, confirmed in an email that the Rancho Mirage restaurant would be closed for four days so that the kitchen exhaust equipment could be upgraded.
“Specifically, the extensive air filtration system we have in place was not neutralizing odor to our satisfaction,” Hardesty said. “These improvements, made in order to provide a better experience for our neighbors, could only be completed during daytime hours which necessitated the closure.”
He also said that the work was finished early, which is why the 42-560 Bob Hope Drive business reopened its doors and drive-thru lines for hungry customers on Thursday.
Gabe Codding, a spokesman for the City of Rancho Mirage, said that the city made the change to the air filters possible by giving the work permission.
It opened in 2022 as the city’s first fast food drive-thru on Highway 111. It was called Rancho Mirage In-N-Out.
Indio, La Quinta, and Thousand Palms are some of the other places in the Coachella Valley. The well-known burger company in Southern California also wants to open a drive-thru in Palm Springs at the Smoke Tree Village shopping center on East Palm Canyon Drive.
