Roger Nava, a 23-year-old Brighton Park resident, has been charged with three charges of attempted first-degree murder, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

Officers said the charges were filed in response to a gunshot that occurred just before noon on Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, near West 87th Street and South Hamlin Avenue.

According to deputies, a fight broke out amongst visitors during a funeral service at the cemetery. During the fight, Nava allegedly opened fire on two males, aged 24 and 25.
