CENTRE COUNTY, Pennsylvania — A person from Romania who was removed from Texas in 2019 has reportedly been found again in Pennsylvania.

Nicolae Strava, 30, was charged on January 23 by a federal grand jury for entering the country illegally, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Acting US Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that Strava was taken out of the U.S. on April 23, 2019, via Houston, Texas. The charges say he was discovered in Centre County on September 20, 2024, without permission to rejoin the United States legally.

If Strava is found guilty, the worst punishment they could get is two years in jail, a fine, and supervised release.

Gurganus said that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Removal Operations (ERO) looked into the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robin Zenzinger is pursuing the case.
