After reportedly running over his 8-month-old kid with a car in a startling occurrence over the weekend, a 20-year-old Florida man has been placed under arrest.
After the baby’s untimely death, Justin Golden is charged with aggravated manslaughter and vehicular homicide, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
According to the police, the incident happened on Saturday morning while Golden was driving with the baby and a female passenger. When Golden and the woman argued while traveling, things swiftly became heated.
According to reports, Golden stopped the car as it got close to an intersection, took the infant out, and put him in the center of the road.
In a terrifying turn of events, according to the police, Golden then drove off, hitting the baby with the car as he ran. Tragically, the infant—later determined to be Golden’s son—died as a result of the wounds he received in the accident.
Although the local community has been rocked by the tragedy, authorities have not established whether the lady who was with Golden at the time was the child’s mother.
Local business owner Markin Barnes saw the aftermath of the incident and called it a heartbreaking scene. Barnes remembered seeing a woman holding a bleeding infant who was clearly upset.
He claimed that as the specifics of what had transpired came to light, the situation only seemed to get worse.
“Now that I’m finding out the details, it’s even worse,” Barnes stated. “Just the screaming, the people consoling her, you could tell it really was tragic.”

Later that afternoon, Golden was arrested and checked into the Duval County Jail at 6:22 p.m.
