In a bizarre midday assault, an Illinois man was arrested for reportedly forcing a pregnant woman to swallow a lit “blunt,” also called a marijuana cigar. According to police, he then attempted to scrub the victim’s feet.
According to a local news outlet, Benjamin Schroeder, 25, allegedly told the woman, “I need to wash your feet,” before making her remove the blazing cigar, which caused burns in her throat.
Since authorities have described the March 10 event as a domestic battery, it is unknown what Schroeder’s relationship to the woman is.
Two days prior to his violent attack, the woman reported to authorities that Schroeder had burned and strangled her.
Approximately 75 miles northwest of Chicago, near the Wisconsin border, is Cherry Valley, where the two of them reside in the 100 block of Lawrence Street.

The woman claimed that at around midday, Schroeder attacked her while she was in bed and pulled her by the wrists to a bathroom upstairs, according to the police.
He allegedly began choking her as soon as he arrived and told her that she needed to wash her feet before he attacked. The victim’s kid was unhurt, but doctors treated her for burns on her throat.
