Driving under the influence is one of the most dangerous actions a driver can take. It’s even more dangerous when people drive in the snow while doing this, as it can easily lead to crashes. Recently, a man in Louisiana did this and ended up crashing into a police car. Now, he is in jail for a DUI.
Driving under the influence is bad enough without doing it in the snow
The recent winter storm has caused an unusual amount of ice in Louisiana. This means that state officials have been advising people not to drive in the snow. There have been several car accidents since the bad weather began. Unfortunately, NOLA reports that a man thought it was a good idea to drive while drunk. While doing this, the man accidentally collided with a state trooper’s police car. It was at a stoplight.
Fortunately, nobody was hurt in the car accident, which isn’t true for many people who drive while drunk. The Louisiana State Police stated that the driver, who shouldn’t have been on the road, was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI). Fortunately, our Trooper is okay, but this event highlights how risky it is to drive under icy conditions when someone is impaired.
The Louisiana State Police did not provide specific information about the driver. We know that the man has been charged with DUI. As always, driving while under the influence is one of the most dangerous things anyone can do.
