After reportedly stealing 14 Dunkin’ Donuts outlets in four counties over the course of two months, a guy from New Jersey was taken into custody last week.
According to a news release from the Hackensack Police Department, Enajaim E. Bowman allegedly targeted 14 Dunkin’ outlets overnight in December and January.
According to the announcement, $18,267.16 in cash and $140 in gift cards were taken, resulting in $10,000 in property damage.
Although the attempt to break into the store was unsuccessful, police said that a 15th store was also connected to these crimes.
“In these incidents, surveillance footage depicted a lone male burglarizing — or in one case attempting to burglarize — the stores by prying locked entry doors and windows,” police stated. “Once inside, the burglar targeted cash registers, safes, and the managers’ offices for theft and vandalism.”
Bowman, who is 24 years old, turned himself in to the authorities on Tuesday and was taken into custody without any complications.
The Bergen County Jail reported that he was remanded to the facility and that he made his initial court appearance on Wednesday. This past Monday, Bowman was still being held in prison.
Bowman has been charged with fourteen charges of burglary in the third degree, one case of attempted burglary in the third degree, twelve counts of theft in the third degree, two acts of criminal mischief in the third degree, and seven counts of criminal mischief in the fourth degree.
