Oath Keepers Founder Rhodes is Not Allowed to Enter Washington or the Capitol Unless a Court Says It’s Okay

WASHINGTON — On Friday, a federal judge said that Stewart Rhodes, the leader of the Oath Keepers, cannot enter Washington, D.C., without permission from the court. This decision follows President Donald Trump’s reduction of Rhodes’ 18-year prison term for planning an attack on the U.S. Capitol four years ago.

U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta gave the order just two days after Rhodes went to the Capitol. While there, he spoke with at least one lawmaker, talked with others, and explained his actions during the mob’s attack on January 6, 2021. Rhodes was released from a Maryland jail a day before.

Mehta’s order also affects other Oath Keepers members who were found guilty of being part of a dangerous plan to attack the Capitol.
