Police were struck in a huge fight in San Jose early Sunday morning

The San Jose Police Department says that officers were slightly hurt when a big fight broke out early Sunday morning in San Jose.

Around 12:26 a.m., police in San Jose were sent to the area of S Santa Clara and W San Pedro streets because of a report of a commotion.

When the responding cops got there, they saw a huge fight. The police said they tried to stop the fight, but some of the suspects ran away. SJPD says that the suspects struck the officers when they tried to arrest other suspects.

More police were called to the scene because there was another fight breaking out. After that, all of the suspects were caught and jailed.

According to San Jose PD, the cops were only slightly hurt.

The department said that there is no longer a danger to the public.
