FBI officials searched the law offices of immigration lawyer and Central Falls Municipal Court Judge Joseph Molina Flynn in Providence, Rhode Island, on Thursday. The reason for the search is not yet known.
An FBI spokesman said that a court allowed the raid, but they did not provide any more details.
Molina Flynn’s office did not respond to calls and emails from Fox News about the raid.
WPRI 12 reported that a warrant was carried out at the office on Dorrance Street. Video from the scene showed several black SUVs parked outside, with agents going in and out of the building carrying boxes.
The station said that two people close to the situation reported that the investigation into Molina Flynn began before President Donald Trump came back to the White House this week.
The law company says on its website that it started in 2015 and specializes in immigration, family, and criminal cases.
The site also adds that the judge was born in Medellin, Columbia, and arrived in the U.S. when he was just 9 years old on a tourist visa. He stayed in the country without legal documents for 15 years before getting legal permanent resident status, the site said.

Molina Flynn studied at Johnson and Wales University and then went to the University of Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor.
When asked for a response, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Rhode Island said to Fox, “Thank you for contacting us.” Our office does not respond to news reports.
On Thursday, Molina Flynn stepped down from his role as the municipal court judge for Central Falls, a post he took on in 2021.
The Providence Journal said that Central Falls Mayor Maria Rivera announced Molina Flynn’s retirement soon after news of the raid came out.
“I was deeply concerned to see the reports of an FBI search at the law office of Joseph Molina Flynn,” Rivera told the newspaper. The people of Central Falls know that being open and responsible is very important to me. To keep the municipal court focused and respected, Judge Molina Flynn has retired.
