Teen Dies, Man in Critical Condition After Early-morning Shooting in Monroe

ATLANTA, Ga – According to the Monroe Police Department, a teenager died and a man is in critical condition as a result of an early-morning shooting on Tuesday.

Before 1 a.m., police were called to Lacy Street, a residential area, where they discovered 17-year-old Eitienne Boakye with a gunshot wound. The teenager from Covington died as a result of his injuries.

Police discovered a second victim less than 400 feet away, at the corner of Pine Park Street and Knight Street. The 23-year-old was transported to the hospital and is in critical condition.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been brought in to investigate the shooting.
