Transgender Student in Indiana Allegedly Planned ‘Parkland Part Two’ School Attack

On Valentine’s Day, the anniversary of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida, a transgender high school student in Indiana is charged with plotting to murder large numbers of pupils.

18-year-old Trinity J. Shockley is being held without bond at the Martinsville, Indiana, Morgan County jail.

According to court documents, Shockley was charged Thursday in Morgan Superior Court 1 with two low-level felony counts of intimidation with a threat to do terrorism and the highest-level felony crime of conspiracy to commit murder.

Shockley frequently goes by Jamie or Dex and identifies as a transgender man.

When the FBI in Indianapolis received a tip and called the Mooresville Metropolitan Police Department (MMPD) to determine the reliability of the information, the plan to carry out a mass shooting at Mooresville High School was thwarted.

FBI Indianapolis said in a statement that the investigation was “swiftly coordinated” with local authorities.

According to the information, someone—later identified as Shockley—had ordered a bulletproof vest, had access to an AR-15 gun, and was preparing a shooting.

Shockley was allegedly infatuated with Nikolas Cruz, the shooter at Parkland High School in Florida on Valentine’s Day in 2018, according to the tip.

Authorities from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department searched Shockley’s residence on Wednesday.

Court filings state that Shockley kept a “shrine” of recent major shootings at his house.

Cruz was on the wall, along with Ethan Crumbley from the Oxford High School massacre in 2021 and Dylann Roof, who killed several people in a Charleston, South Carolina, church shooting.

According to the docs, Shockley also possessed buttons with the faces of mass shooters and an album of their photos.

Numerous notes were allegedly taken from Shockley’s room by law enforcement as well. According to Shockley’s identification in the retrieved notebooks, “Dex… a transgender male [who has] a lot of homicidal thoughts.”

“These thoughts never seem to stop, you may believe that I am some edgelord, but in reality, I am just a loser,” Shockley wrote in a December 16, 2024, entry. “Although I am thankful for the opportunity to live, I am actually afraid to do so. You mean the government?

No. This depressing fact of having to live with a piece or pieces of s— I’m hoping that whoever sees this would acknowledge it and perhaps utilize it to carry out your massacre.

In previous January postings, Shockley expressed a desire to harm others and stated that individuals must be “killed” and “wiped away from humanity.”

“You all need to be burnt out, killed, wiped away from humanity,” the writer stated. “Right now, I want to pull out a [sic] AR-15.”

Authorities also discovered archives of Shockley’s Snapchat and Discord accounts during the inquiry, which contained discussions about organizing a school massacre. According to reports, Shockley’s username on Discord was “Crazy Nikolaz.”

On January 12, 2025, Shockley stated in an interview with “TCC Mama” that she was armed with an AR-15 and had prepared for “Parkland part two.”

In an interview with police on Wednesday, Shockley claimed it was a prank, according to court filings.

“[Shockley] stated that [Shockley] wanted to recreate [what] Cruz did, but [Shockley] would never do anything like that,” according to the papers. “It was uttered in anger. [Shockley] is attempting to get assistance. [Shockley] wanted to be homeschooled due to the severity of the thoughts.

After being struck by a suspected drunk motorist in September 2022, Shockley also reported to authorities that she had been harassed and taunted. Shockley sustained brain damage and a shattered skull as a result of the collision.

About a year later, the driver, 35-year-old Michael Simpson, killed himself before the criminal accusations against him were settled. According to the detective, Shockley confessed to being responsible for Simpson’s suicide.

In court filings, detectives also mentioned that Shockley had asked the school district for mental health services, but his father had turned down the request. Investigators were reportedly informed by a school official that Shockley’s father “did not believe in mental health treatment.”

The “quick response” by local, state, and federal law enforcement is something that Mooresville Schools Superintendent Jake Allen expressed gratitude for.

Online court records did not immediately show Shockley’s next court appearance.
