Troopers Are Looking for the Driver Who Caused a Fiery Crash in Florida That Killed One and Injured Many

WILDWOOD, Fla. — Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol are looking for the driver who caused a fatal and very hot crash at an intersection in Florida on Friday night.

At 5:30 p.m., the unknown driver of a dark-colored SUV was going south on CR-475 and getting close to a stop sign at the Wildwood SR-44 crossing.

A 32-year-old man from Inverness was going west on SR-44 at the same time that a 39-year-old man and his female passenger were going east on SR-44. They were all coming up to the same crossing.

Police said the unknown car did not stop at the light and drove into the intersection.

The man from Inverness tried not to hit the driver, so he veered left and into the eastbound lanes, where he hit the car with the woman and the 39-year-old.

The FHP said that both of their cars caught fire.

The three people who were hurt were all taken to a nearby hospital, but the 39-year-old guy later died.

If anyone knows anything about the driver in question, they should call *347 or Crime Stoppers at **8477.
