YouTube Rap Video Shows Indian Teen Celebrating Murder with ‘Head Shot,’ Police Say

Police in Indiana claim a 19-year-old raps on YouTube and posts on social media about killing a man after doing just that.

The raps include ominous phrases like “head shot” and “I gotta finish the beef they started.”

According to online court documents and the Fort Wayne Police Department, Cameron Kizer Jr., who is currently serving a prison sentence for violence connected to an unrelated incident, was charged Monday with murder in connection with the shooting death of 20-year-old Jathen Maxwell in July 2024.

Around midnight on July 25, in the 3900 block of Warsaw Street in Fort Wayne, a family member of the victim reported the event. According to police, Maxwell was shot in the head and hip.

According to Kizer’s criminal records, which WANE was able to get, he posted raps about the shooting on social media sites like YouTube.

“I gotta finish the beef they started.” Kizer rapped, “You get a low on bro then call me.”

A woman who reportedly assisted Kizer in carrying out the Maxwell shooting told police that Kizer had been threatening Maxwell “for a while” and intended to “set him up” for a robbery.

“The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Homicide Unit has been diligently investigating the homicide and with the assistance of the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office,” FWPD officials stated in a Tuesday press release. “Kizer is currently confined in the Indiana Department of Corrections — Westville Correctional Facility on an unrelated battery conviction.”

Investigators reportedly discovered more than two dozen 9-millimeter round casings at the location of Maxwell’s murder.

Although it’s unclear why, witnesses informed police that Kizer had been threatening him on social media for a while.

Hours after the shooting, he allegedly uploaded his rap video to YouTube.

Kizer is charged with homicide as well as requesting a stolen vehicle from pals to use during the event. When he will next appear in court is unknown.
